TS-109/209/409 is unable to display Volume Management or SMART information
Posted by Daniel Orme on 30 March 2015 03:35 PM

Problem: TS-109/209/409 is unable to display volume management, and HDD SMART status page will jump back to main menu.

Cause: The old firmware is unable to read SMART information of newer unsupported HDD.

Solution:

1. Enter NAS command line

2. Edit the file: /home/httpd/cgi-bin/disk/html/disk_record.xml

3. Find the line: <hdsmart>$HD_SMART$</hdsmart>

4. Edit this line to: <hdsmart> </hdsmart>   (note there is a space in the middle)

5. Save the file and exit

Note: This change will be reset if you reboot the NAS.

You may save the edited disk_record.xml on your data volume and setup an autorun script to copy the edited file into the /home/httpd/cgi-bin/html/ folder on booting.
