What to do when the NAS failed to initialise
Posted by Daniel Orme on 24 October 2013 12:57 PM

In the case that the NAS quick-setup fails during the initialise stage, it could be cause by the NAS couldn't partition the HDDs properly.

It can be fixed by these steps:

1. Power off, and unplug all HDDs from the NAS

2. Connect all the HDDs to a windows PC and delete the partitions:

Note: Do not format the HDD, only delete all partitions.

3. After all HDDs partitions have been cleared, connect them back into the NAS

4. Boot the NAS and try the quick setup process again.
